This Privacy Policy explains how Manda Music Manager (“Manda,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our iOS application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your profile picture. We use this to create and identify your account.
Class and practice data. We store the classes you create or join, your instrument, practice sessions and minutes, weekly goals, teacher-assigned activities, grades, notes, and upcoming events (such as concerts or recitals). This is the core information that makes the App work.
Profile photo (optional). If you choose to add a profile or class photo, that image is stored with your account. You can remove it at any time.
Microphone (tuner). The built-in tuner uses your device’s microphone to detect pitch in real time. Audio is processed entirely on your device to show the note and frequency — it is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to us or anyone else.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the App’s features.
- To sync your classes and practice history across your devices when you sign in.
- To display leaderboards and progress within your classes.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.
How information is stored
Account, class, and practice data is stored securely using our backend provider, Supabase, which hosts our database on its cloud infrastructure. Some data (such as your active practice timer and preferences) is also stored locally on your device.
Sharing within a class
Information you contribute to a class — such as your name, instrument, and practice minutes — is visible to the class owner (teacher) and, where the teacher enables the leaderboard, to other members of that class.
Third-party services
The App uses Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for authentication and Supabase for data storage. Your use of those sign-in services is also governed by their respective privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
Manda is designed to be used by music students under the direction of a teacher, school, or parent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner that requires verifiable parental consent without it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices & data deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete account), which permanently removes your identity and associated records. You may also email us to request access to or deletion of your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
